We can help publicize the opportunity and can consider how to get spots for Wavemaker Fellows to attend! from your 'old' loan servicer so that your annual certification now and moving forward can be completed without an issue. It is best practice to save all communications, monthly statements, payment history, loan term documents, loan agreements, etc. In the event that your student loan is impacted by this change, which is set to rollout during the first quarter of 2021, it will be important for you to maintain comprehensive records of the loan servicer change. This means some loans will be moving from an 'old' loan servicer (ex: Navient) to a 'new' loan servicer (ex: MOHELA).

The Wavemaker Fellowship provides a financial incentive for graduates pursuing a career or starting a business in Rhode Island in science, technology, engineering, math, design, healthcare and other key sectors, by defraying student loan payments for up to four years.

In addition to tax credits, the fellowship provides various personal and professional development programs, networking opportunities, community-based events and more. Fellows with a bachelor’s degree are eligible for up to $4,000 in refundable tax credits per year, while fellows with a master’s degree are eligible for up to $6,000 per year. Industrial design or other commercially relevant design fieldĪpplicants must have student loan debt currently in repayment or entering repayment shortly after applying to the program.
